Ode to Susannah, by Ed Lacy
Ed Lacy, 92, poet laureate of the Shannondell adult community, wrote a poem just for Susannah. Melissa gives a solid reading:
You came into this world
at a wonderful time
Just like a beautiful musical chime
You came kicking and shouting
for all to hear
That the world is now the better
for a new little dear.
May your future
be as bright
as a star in the sky,
with love and happiness
that money can't buy.
