The American Girl Kaya tepee Susannah set her cap for costs $125, needs batteries and makes noise. Phew! Inspired by Megan and Norah and informed by Pinterest I suggested to Susannah that we make our own. She wasn't sure and said she wanted to touch the Kaya version first. But curiosity won out and we hit Home Depot this evening. I imagined lovely tie dye tent panels but the girl had something a little more Yves Klein in mind. And who am I to limit the artist's process? The result? Nene, Lucy and Lila are camped out tonight in a tent Susannah says is even better than the one from American Girl.
Mission accomplished! Boo yah.
